      Hi Guys,

I want to buy a model pack on the evermotion site to play and test out in the new lumion 8.
I was planning to buy this package https://evermotion.org/shop/show_product/archmodels-vol-190/14216
I know that you can directly import the max files into lumion and then texture them.
But i can not remove ore edit certain things inside lumion.

So i want to find an option to get this model fully textured into sketchup, is there a way?
Because i don't have 3ds max and i don't know how this works......

      Thanks in advance,

      Sam

Yes, but then the textures won't go whit the model.
Only the model will then open in sketchup not the textures so how is that possible?

Simlab brings textured skp from max. Its important to convert vray mats to standard ones before.

Ok but i'm not in possession of 3ds max.
So i import the evermotion file in fbx type to sketchup but then i don't get it textured so...

I'm just searching for a way to import it into sketchup whit textures and everything.
Just like you would import it into 3ds max just fully finished.
              Is this possible?

              Thanks in advance,

              Sam

                Once again:
Simlab converts fbx to skp WITH textures.
Important thing: convert vray mats to standard ones before fbx creation
You coulduse Max's 30 day demo

If the model comes into Simlab without textures you could try putting the fbx file in the same folder as the textures.

Evermotion models usually come in the following formats: MAX C4D OBJ FBX, with several flavors of Max files, not just for Vray (scanline, mental ray, etc) and you only download the ones you want when you want.

I would go ahead and buy the Evermotion set, then download a demos of the Simlab importer plugins for sketchup - obj importer, fbx, etc. and see which ones works best for your workflow. The $100 or so for the Simlab plugins are definitely worth it if you plan to use often and want to build a library of skp objects from high quality Max models. They are fast and do a good job if you use them correctly.

Again, install demos of various Simlab importers for Sketchup, then try importing different file formats to Sketchup to see which works best for you. (if you don't want to purchase Evermotion set yet, then you can try downloading free assets of various formats.)

Also, the general work-around for doing 'real' 3D work without having a 3DS Max license is using Blender. There will be a slight learning curve, but you can open files, layout UVs and export to different formats.
