Installing sketchup and net framework
-
Hi,
I have two queries:
First is I can't install sketchup on my laptop with windows 7 os. The Net framework 4 starts installing but the progress bar reaches the end and goes back to beginning and never finishes. I've tried skp 2015, 16 and 17 and have tried deleting net framework from my computer and clean reinstalling and tried the standalone installer online but that one does nothing at all(progress bar doesn't move at all when left on all day).
Secondly, anyone know of a plugin to export 2d cad lines from the section tool, it would save me making a rectangle, intersecting face with model etc everytime I want to export.
Thanks

Hi.
The issue in your first paragraph is not within my skillset.
The issue in your second paragraph suggested TIG's Section Cut Face. That plugin has been around a few years. It basically builds a plane on the Sketchup section plane you designate.
I think that's right. Or, I have found another item not in my skillset. -
Have you tried manually installing 4.5.2 .net framework?
Edit: I read your post too quickly...looks like you have tried the "standalone" installer....sorry I have no other solution

Edit:#2
I had this same problem and I cannot recall the order of install but I believe you have to do the C++ runtime install as well (maybe before .net install?)
see paragraph #5 of this link -
You need install net framework 4.0 or 4+

I had the same issue.
For me it was Firefox and it's new security.
I went to MS Explore and Bingo.
Hope this helps.

try if installing the Windows runtime libraries required by SU v2016/2017 again helps:
• Microsoft .NET Framework v4.5.2+
• Microsoft Visual C++ Redist. 2015
• Microsoft Universal C Runtime Update f. Win 7/8.xalways run these installers (as well as the SU setup) by "r-click > Run as Admin".
