I know I saw a thread about this some time ago but was not able to find it again so I could use some input from you sages.

I want to set up my own library of colors/materials/textures. I have about 200 pieces of equipment in my component library. I want to insure that I am using a consistent set of colors/materials/textures but I seem to be messing up when trying to create my own library. My intention is to then go back through all of my components (equipment) and apply these colors/materials/textures to each piece of equipment.

Next problem is then to take models where I have a multiple pieces of equipment and "clean them up" so that the models have only one occurrence of each color/material/texture.

I would like recommendations on how to achieve these two "basic" steps.
