Enscape for Sketchup

I am expecting them to come out with new alpha versions each of 14 day trial periods till they reach release version!
Enscape need to make their presence felt here at sketchucation (afterall this is a fairly large community).. somebody invite them over here already!!!

Well, I just had to give it a try

Here is an image and a movie I created with VERY LITTLE effort:

You can only imagine what this tool could look like when it moves on the next stages.

• The render is almost instantaneous
• Making my equipment materials look like metals was so easy thanks to the tips in @EarthMover's video
• Imagine if you could generate an animation with Fredo's Animator plugin and include it
• Would love to be able to generate the exe and see how that works
• Would love to be able to view the Enscape version of a model directly on a web page
• Would like to control the environment a little more (more options than in the current alpha

I could go on with more "wish list" items but IMHO this is amazing for an alpha. In particular, the ease of use and the general quality of the output is amazing. As @EarthMover said in his video, if you had additional stuff available like in some of the competitive products, it would (and maybe already is) a no-brainer.

Finally was able to make it work.... jusat had to update the display drivers!!!!

I updated my drivers on Thursday to the newest ones and still it crashes.

I updated my windows OS along side.... dont know if that helped my case though!! Hope u get it installed pete! I am sure u will enjoy using it as much as i do! Hope to put out some renders and a video and try and win that competition!!!

Updating to OS actually worked, well maybe not update but revert to the last 'public' version. If you know what I mean.

Pretty cool, lacks a ton of features but not bad as a quick tool.

I need to learn hoe do landscaping around my models.

I thought the rendering was the fastest of any tool I have tried/used. Creating the movie was really fast too.

Yes, a long way to go but it sure looks to me like it has a lot of potential given that this is only an alpha version.

Can't get it to work either. Loaded and updated through extension manager. When I try to run it I get the egg timer of death, and then crash on mouse click

This is awesome, half way to Lumion and few steps in front of Lumion when it comes what is it offering. What i do not like is subscription based licence. Far best type of subscription for me have Allegorithmic with Substance live Rent-to-own type of licence. Maybe this 45$/month could be like that?

@jenujacob & Pete, thanks for posting your videos. I like them and think they show some potential with Enscape. I saw another video (could not find it for this post but if I find it I will post it) that showed some additional things related to animation, moving characters and etc. If they bring that to the SU world that would be great.

If you go to their site and look at some of their tutorial videos they show some pretty neat stuff. In particular there was one showing them editing some materials that was pretty neat but that might really be just the way you can edit materials in Revit. If it is, they need to bring some of that to the SU world.

I also saw am Enscape video that included sound (I think it was one of the tutorials). There is also a link in their gallery where you can download one of the stand-alone Enscape models. That could be an interesting way for you to share your work with a client.

My biggest impression was the ability to view my model in both SU and Enscape simultaneously and how that connection made changes in SU show up in real-time in the Enscape window. I was also impressed with the speed of rendering and video creation.

Look at the 0:04 mark for a few seconds but in particular, look at the end beginning at 5:58. If they bring these capabilities to SU that would be awesome.

A couple more samples of rendered images. I am particularly happy with the quality of the metal in this image.

I am having one problem with the plugin (but then again, this is just an alpha version). Every time I start SU, I get a message from the Extension Manager that there is an update for the plugin but when I click to update, nothing happens.
