I just upgraded to Sketchup Make 2017. The same model will have about half the frame-rate in 2017 when orbiting. Same settings and preferences.

Here's another funny thing: When I turn on Shadows in SU 2016, it becomes, unexpectedly, smoother (faster frame-rate). In SU 2017, it's equally choppy with or without shadows enabled.

OpenGL settings are identical and changes in aliasing (0x,2s,4s,etc) don't make a visible difference at all.

I'm on GL version 3.3.0, have two GeForce GTS 250 cards in SLI.

I've tried installing the "Install-CheckUp" app for Sketchup, but the installation fails with the error:

Any ideas? I sure was looking forward to that "buttery 3D orbitting"

Did you follow the directions in the error message? What version of Windows are you using?

          Windows 7, SP1.
I didn't have any "critical updates" due, and "Hotfix KB299926" doesn't seem to exist.
All searches for this Update come up with "KB2999226" which has an extra "2".
I've now been trying to install the latter, but the Windows Updater always hangs during the install.
Having to shift my priorities elsewhere for the moment, but will report if/ how this is fixed. A graphics card update may be in order (as you suggested on SU's forum).
          Thanks.
