Make multiple copies varying the height along a curve
-
Hi to everyone. First of all I apologize for my poor english. I want to make multiple copies of a post varying the height along a curve and mantainig it's base section at the top. How can I do that? I'm attaching a sketch of what I want to do.

Draw the posts a bit extra long. Each one should be a group or component. Make a sold group or component with the curve shape on the bottom to use as a "cutter". Then use Trim from the Solid Tools selecting the "cutter" then the posts one at a time.

With SkatchUp Make I will make that
Draw some vertical lines Intersected with one curve
Select all lines
Use Draw Extrude Line along a vector (Inside Projection By Didier Bur)
Select all / Make Top and bottom caps (Fill holes by Tig )<!-- ia2 -->variante.jpg<!-- ia2 -->[/attachment:agajs7kx]
<!-- ia1 -->GIF_proj.gif<!-- ia1 -->[/attachment:agajs7kx]
Thank you a lot! What if I have to make posts between two curved lines?

You could still use the method I suggested.

Something like this
2 Curves on the same plane
Draw a big vertical Line
Copy Move with /x x = number of thing that you want
Intersection
Select Only Straight edges (Plugin)
Invert selection
Eraseand make like shown above with Projections by Didier BUR
and Add Faces by Tig
