To be fare, it does look as though the 'beta' can be freely renewed but I agree the whole 'free' thing is massively over hyped. Perhaps the advertising can be reviewed.

The word 'free' is overused and used out of context. There is a whole host of excuses used when free actually means limited and not really free. Perhaps when customers refuse to download these scam freebies, there will be proper change, maybe.

Then it is essentially "Cripple Ware"
I prefer fully functional software stating things like 30 day Free Trial
No nagging - just a caption stating how many days left in the trial -
It's more poetic and works better for the third "F" !

I spend 180.00 USD for Vipre for 2 years for 5 computers which works out to 18.00 per computer per year. I have never seen problems like you are talking about.
I've seen Avast and it runs very slowly as it checks things.
Perhaps you should re evaluate which virus protection software you use.

Don't works due false positif or more severe?My advice will be to go to Rocket's forum : you have direct link with the authors!
