Cannot find and delete hidden objects in import
-
When I import a model I have created into the larger model I'm working on, I am getting a bounding box larger than the visible imported model itself.
I have made sure all objects are not hidden and even checked the outliner and deleted objects not used, then purged all unused objects, yet the bounding box is still larger than the visible model after I import it into the larger model.
Does anyone have any idea what is happening?
Thanks.

It could be the position of the origin. Is the bounding box always bigger or only when open for editing?
Can you share the offending model so we can check it? -
This can happen if one of the components/groups within your model were grouped with their axes different (skewed) from the overall model. This can put a corner of the off-axis bounding box outside the bounding box of the rest of the model making it appear as if the bounding box of your model is larger than the model itself.

Thanks to both of you. I did check those after your recommendations and appreciate the suggestion as this is something I will now be more aware of in the future.
It turns out there was a guideline I could not see that off the screen and this is one part of the problem.
The other part of the problem was SketchUp itself misbehaving and not properly unhiding everything nor purging unused properly. Even select all was not showing the offending objects. Outliner finally worked properly and I was able to erase the unused.
After 5 tries doing all of the above steps, the model was finally purged of unused and imported cleanly.
Thanks again for the help.
