      NO ENTITY.JPG

I thought I had this problem fixed.

I have followed all the steps in the topic "solved No entity data"

I even went so far as to completely uninstall sketchup and remove any folders that have anything to do with sketchup. At that point, after re-instlling sketchup I thought I had it.

I started sketchup, drew a cube and stuck a dynamic component (window) onto one of the surfaces and right clicked and to my great surprise, it worked! the normal dynamic components window popped up and I was able to function like normal.

I then saved the model and reopened it, and you guessed it...I get the No entity data message when I right click and try to edit dynamic component.

So it seems that on a new model prior to saving, dynamic component works.
after saving to my hard drive, it does not.

      Any ideas?

      *Windows 10
      *sketchup pro 2016
*Known to be good dynamic components
*everything works fine on my other sketchup installation.

For anyone that is having this issue: Trimble team has responded to me that it is a known problem and it is on the list of things to be addressed.

A work around I have found is as follows.

        • After opening the file you intend to work on, open a second new session. Do not save the new session.
        • If you want to work with a dynamic component, insert it into the unsaved file, make your adjustments, and copy/paste it into the model you are actually working on. Just leave that unsaved file open and do not save it and you can continue to use it for dc adjustments. Pain in the behind, but at least I can keep functioning while waiting for a real solution.

I use dynamic windows in all my home models so I can't live without this feature.

        paul.
