Just curious: What is the difference/relationship between these 3 renderers?

Kerkythea is the grandfather, Podium version 1 was created using the Kerky engine, Twilight was created using Kerky engine, Thea is the all bells and whistles upgraded version of Kerkythea.

Thanks Solo - at times it seems the relationship seemed a little confusing. It is obvious there is a connection but I did not know what it was. Are there things that Thea includes that are not in the others (honestly, I assume there are)?

There are a lot of differences and while Thea has the most robust engines, from wich the most famous is Presto as it supports GPU+CPU accelerated renders. I'd say it's a more sophisticated renderer compared to the others, but there might be advantages in the others like simplicity of use for wich I think both Twilight and Podium are famous for. I've never used them...

I've used Kerkythea and now I use Thea and they have nothing to do with one another, the difference in price (KT is free), really is justified!

              Naahhh... Wouldn't say so...
Although the Solid Iris team learned a lot from the Kerkythea project, the code was completely rewritten... 😄

So although they're somehow related, they're different in many aspects...

              Cheers

KT is not so user friendly and full of features as Thea is (haven't tried it), still it has a lot of power and control, and it's possible to pick up and get results pretty quickly. KT has a LOT more to offer than most "free" software.
