I have 20 models each of which contain 9 scenes (different camera views) and 11 layers. What I need is a 2D pdf export of each layer in each scene of each model (a total of 1980 exports) for import into adobe illustrator. Is there a script available anywhere so that I can batch process this action? Many thanks for any help or suggestions.

Do they have to be PDF exports?

If you have a scene for each image you need to create you could use the Image Set export under Animation. I don't know of a plugin that would do what you're asking but you will likely be limited if you are still using SketchUp 6 as indicated in your profile.

Yes the exports need to be pdf for import into illustrator so that they can be edited and then final export from illustrator to svg.

I'm playing around with a couple of scripts 'export layers' and 'export scenes' but if they could be combined then bliss ...
