Help With 2016
-
Yeah maybe I should!
sorry Eli, I don't understand "up right side on the Default tray button"
these are the Display Settings in SUp 5 where you can adjust Profiles, Edge Color, and Use Sun for Shading.
in my 2016 Shadows tool bar, I only have one button for Display Shadows, and not the button for Shadow Settings.
-
Click to play.
Those settings are under Styles now.
And I said Shadows window not toolbar.
-
neat animation you did, I can see exactly what you said
well those Trays are new to me. What version of SUp did they appear in??
I've been looking around in there, don't think I like having to go in to adjust some settings though, is there a way to have some of them up in an on screen toolbar? Like the Materials, and Entity Info? I tried dragging them out.
I still can't find where to adjust for North, so my shadows are accurate.
-
They appeared in the last version.
I usually keep them there, because I don't like to play with them. I somehow liked the way it was before.
You can however create a tray for each window you like separated and then move it around.
See this article-scroll down until you meet managing trays. https://help.sketchup.com/en/article/3000139
Maybe you should change the location Window/Model info/Geo Location ? -
Nope can't adjust the sun settings / North in there either Ely .. I've been digging around in this new interface too.
say, I have another issue, setting, whatever, and that is this grey background color in the model. How do I get the Ground and blue Sky to appear, or make it all white background with no ground and sky?
here's a screen shot showing my Styles and Scenes settings,
-
Joe,
You need to pick a style that has the ground and sky turned on. For example the style shown in your picture on the lower right. OR you need to edit a style you are using under the background TAB. Be sure to click the update button to save your changes to that style (or save as a new style). The north direction is changed either by rotating your model or by loading the north arrow plugin and resetting north for your scene. Be sure to update the scene.
-
yeah I had just figured out about the Styles, it'll take some time to adjust, took me a bit to find Update ..
I'll go get that plugin! Strange they omitted Location > Set Location, since SUp has shadows?

Here's the link.
Important to note:

The Solar North extension requires an active SketchUp Pro license.
-
Don't you have "Geolocation / Add location?" Is that a Pro only feature too?

Get Location is available in SketchUp Make but manually setting north requires the plugin from the link and it is only functional in the Pro version.
