Sketchucation Plugin Bundles Autoinstall not working
-
Hello,
I've recently reinstalled windows, and I tried to reinstall my plugins into sketchup using the bundles autoinstall feature but it isn't working.
I'm using sketchup 2015 on windows 7.
The strange thing is that it had worked before on my other machine running windows 10 with the same sketchup version.
I tried 2 versions of the Sketchucation plugin. The new 3.0 version doesn't respond at all when I click autoinstall bundle button. The 2.6.1 version just displays "Installing Plugins..." forever and actually does nothing.
Appreciate any help I could get to fix this.

I assume your computer now has a new ID.
Is the old version also listed in the available Bundles ?
Some files in your user ../AddData//Local/SCF subfolder might have got lost in your upgrade...
Can you perhaps PM Gábor with details of what your Bundles dialog shows.
That might be helpful.Have you made sure all of your folders have appropriate 'write' permissions ?
Can you run the tool with the Ruby Console open and report any messages...
It works for many, so we need to find your particular issue and fix it...

No, only my desktop bundle is available. The old version is not listed in the available bundles, even though I read somewhere that it's supposed to be.
I didn't think I had to backup any files, I thought it was all supposed to happen online through my account...
Well, I have SketchUp 2015, so the plugin folder is in the users tree, which isn't supposed to create any write permission problems. I tried copying a bunch of files to the folder just to make sure, and they were copied just fine.
Also for the ruby console.. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right, but I don't get any messages...
I've recorded a sample of what happens for reference. Note that even though it is obviously edited for dramatic effect, I HAVE actually tried waiting that long.
Finally, I don't know any Gábor, and I couldn't find his name in the forums. Could you contact him for me? Thanks.

Gábor [copy the name as it has an accent!] IS the SketchUcation IT guru, and he can be contacted by Private-Message...
Other thoughts:-
Have you more that one SketchUcation membership ID ?
Perhaps your lost your User ..AppData/Local/SCF folder - that would have contained you encrypted membership sign-in ID details etc.
If so that might mean the stored Bundles are not found... -
It seems I need to "participate more" to use the PM feature. I get this:
"We are sorry, but you are not authorised to use this feature. You may have just registered here and may need to participate more to be able to use this feature."
Hmm, I don't have more than one ID. But if you are talking about folders... I formatted the drive before reinstalling windows. Is that why the bundle was lost?

After three posts you should be able to PM...
Try Gábor again...
But I see that, although you joined two years ago, you have only posted here recently.
I assume you have been using the SCF PluginStore's dialog on various SketchUp versions and computers.
Have you downloaded Plugins from SCF ?
Your original user-id etc might have lapsed as the servers were changed about the time you registered.
So you might have lost your earlier user-id for the SCF PluginStore ?
When you use the PluginStore, it submits your currently installed/downloaded for that version and computer to the server and it's stored with your account details, against your-id.
Obviously your replaced computer no longer has your locally-stored user-details.
But there might be something stored against your user-id server-side.
Gábor can advise...
