I have been using Sketchup on a PC (at work) for years and recently purchased a mac for home use. I love my mac, however, I for the life of me cannot get an plugins to load. I put them in the proper file location but they do not show up and when I try the install approach I can't get to the file were they are located. I am using version 2015. Any suggestions other than buy a PC.

Since v8M0 [PC & MAC] you do not need to 'put' plugins files anywhere.

Here is a simple step sheet...

Download your desired Plugin [or Extension - they are basically the same thing, but Extensions can be [de]activated etc in the Preferences>Extensions dialog].
Virtually all such files arrive as RBZ archives - certainly of you have any newer versions of SketchUp [>v2014] you need to ensure you have the latest version of the RBZ to ensure compatibility.

Save/move the RBZ to say your Downloads folder OR your Desktop...

In SketchUp open SketchUp [i.e. on MAC, or Windows on PC] > Preferences > Extensions and use the 'Install Extensions...' button.

In the window that opens find the RBZ and choose it.

Answer in the affirmative to any prompts that come up.

SketchUp extracts all of the RBZ's contents and puts them into the appropriate Plugins folder for you.
Keeping any files in their appropriate subfolders etc...

Most Plugins loaded like this are immediately available for use.
A few might require you to restart SketchUp to get everything working.
Also some are Extensions that might need activating in Preferences > Extensions.
Any Toolbars might also need activating...

        Hope that helps...

If you have some simple 'lone' RB files you can try and copy those into the Plugins folder manually, although they might NOT works...

To find your Plugins folder use this snippet + <enter> in the Ruby Console.
        UI.openURL("file:///#{Sketchup.find_support_file('Plugins')}")

There are two "Library" Folders on the Mac. For some reason they decided to hide the User's Library Folder, which is where the plugins should go (under Application
          Support).
To get there use the "Go" menu "Go to Folder.." command. Type"~/Library"

But to load, follow TIG's directions, it's easy.
