I miss the old Layer Manager which now has moved to the default tray. To turn on/off layers or change between layers you now have to scroll down to find the right tray. I wish there was a way to extract the menues to have them separate available on screen, -when you close the menu it would be back in the default tray. Did I miss something or is the separate menu still there somewhere?

As Box says, you can make a separate tray and move it. Personally, I like the tray as it is. In previous versions of SketchUp I had things set up so those utility windows were stacked outside and to the right of the main SketchUp window. Now that's automatically done and I get additional real estate above for toolbars.

As before, you don't have to keep all those utility windows open. Roll up the ones you aren't using and you won't have to scroll through the tray to get to the Layers window.

Personally I'm not a fan of the trays either. However it is possible to create separate trays and position them as you want. For example I have a permanent floating tray with only Entity Info.
