      Hi,

      • Win7 Pro 32bit SP1
      • CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz
      • RAM 4.00 Go Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz (5-5-5-18)
      • Motherboard Gigabyte G41M-ES2L
      • Graphics 256MB ATI FireGL V7200 (CrossFire Disabled)

p.s. I have Supply from Piriform, so if you need more infos tell me, btw all my drivers are dl from official websites.

Before, when I used skp 8.0 and olders I had an Nvidia Zotac GTS450 1BG 128BIT DDR5 and skp worked well on that computer. But since that card was more for games I decided to put this actual ATI which is specific for 3D CG. The seller told me that I should have better results.

Concerning my work, I just made a small components and that's all my work on it and every time I am trying to touch one of those component it crashes.
Same thing if I bring a component from an work did with an older ver. of skp

p.s. I added one file on attachements

      Décors no01.skp

it opened fine on my mac, so it must be a local issue for your setup...

does it open with the é in your filename?

learn from the mistakes of others, you may not live long enough to make them all yourself...

I can't say for certain if this is your situation, but as a rule the ATI graphics drivers are not as compatible with SketchUp as those from NVidia. The FireGL cards are actually not so good for SketchUp (your vendor likely does not know SketchUp specifically and recommended this card based on other apps).

When it crashes, do you get a BugSplat? If so, have you submitted the BugSplats to Trimble with enough identifying information that they can get back to you?

driven >do you have the same ATI on your mac?
when you said ''does it open with the ??é?? in your filename?''
what do you want to mean?

slbaumgartner >yes I get a BugSplat (pls see attached file''
what does ''submitted the BugSplats to Trimble'' means?

It means click the button at the bottom labelled "Envoyer le rapport d'erreur".

I never do that, it never resolved any issue until today since the beginning of my life lol
the issue comes from another part of the problem I sure, some setting to change, smt like that

I do have an even older ATI card, but I am on a mac using Apple drivers...

If you submit the BugSplats with your UserName [at least] then Can and Do look them up to offer advice...

They don't send every person a personal reply...

What Plugins do you have installed?

I don't have any plugin it's the first time I use this new version of skp

                    btw, I red that
                    http://help.sketchup.com/fr/article/36252
and I cleared ''use hardware acceleration''
now I can edit my component, when I touch it skp doesen't crashes anymore.
We'll see how much time it will works LOL

p.s. smb could tell me how to erase all skp components? (not mines but the ones that skp added from the beginning, include the skp man)

When turning off hardware acceleration fixes a SketchUp problem, that is pretty sure proof that there is a problem with either your graphics hardware or its driver software. With it turned off, some operations in SketchUp will be slower. I would recommend that you see if your seller will let you trade the graphics card for one from NVidia.

Regarding the little man (or other figure), he is included in the standard template files distributed with SketchUp. To get rid of him, simply open a new file, delete him, and then File->Save as Template ( not sure how that translates to French, Enregistrer comme modèle?). Set the edited version as your default Template.

By the way, if you don't submit your BugSplat you can rest assured that Trimble will never address your problem because they will never have heard of it!

I have kept the Nvidia so if I want I can switch it
but what is strange is that my ATI is supposed to be a 3d card
and my Nvidia is only for gamers
but as you said, skp is a bit slower, for the moment it's ok, but when I will have more component I will see how much slow it will be.

Yeah the little man is called Derek lol
but I don't want to kill Derek
I only want to delete all other preinstalled components,
but I didn't understand your explanation about that
if I delete Derek, why should the other preinstalled component disapear to?
