How to cut solid with Curved Surface?

Hi all...
I want to cut a solid surface such as cylindrical surface with curved surface such as a bowl like surface. I can't use solid tools because although cylinder is a solid, but bowl surface is not. Or how to make a bowl like hole in a surface? Mention any plugins if available.

Either make the bowl shape a solid so you can use the Solid Tools (this requires the pro version, though) or use intersect Faces. These are basic operations with native tools. No plugins required.

It would be useful to see an example of what you are trying to do.
