2015 Can't anchor crossing Tape Measures
-
On a flat surface I use Tape Measure tool to create a horizontal and vertical measure line.
I'm unable to get an anchor point when I move the Tape Measure tool where these measure lines cross each other. Sketchup 8 works fine this way, but Sketchup 2015 doesn't at all.

I just tried it and it works fine for me. Could you post an SKP file that has this problem?

You can control if they really cross if you draw a line along each of them and see if they are intersected.

I tried it again with nothing else than single flat face and now it worked.
I take it that part of my model had screwed up one of the axis... has happened before. Thanks for the tip.

I noticed an infinite length tape measure line [guide] and a finite length tape measure line with a point at the end [guide point] both stretched across a flat plane and crossing each other do not provide an intersection inference. A slight annoyance but not the end of the world.

The finite length "tape measure" line is not a guideline as the infinitely long ones are. It is only a tail to show the reference origin for a guide point. The guide point is the only part that can be snapped to. That's normal behavior and not a bug.

to answer my own question in a topic now locked......tap the ctrl key when you stretch the tape measure across a group or component to avoid having to erase the guideline that remains after you resize.
