32bit and 64bit sketchup pro
-
Hi there,
I want to purchase sketchup pro. I've tried the 64bit version and it kept crashing and showing the bug splat pop up. Then I downloaded the 32bit version with no problems.
2 questions,
Am I missing out by only having the 32 Bit version? and if so can I change to the 64 bit version at a later date when the bug is fixed for no extra charge?Kind Regards,

What version of Windows are you running? Are you sure it is 64-bit? Did you copy your previous plugins instead of reinstalling fresh copies (some of them may be compiled for 32-bit)? For every upgrade of SketchUp, the only safe course is to reinstall all plugins.
But anyway, all you lose in the 32-bit version is ability to use larger amounts of memory, which usually matters only if you are running an embedded renderer or work with very large models.

Thanks for your reply.
Windows 8.1, yeah it is 64bit with just the basic sketchup tool set.
I won't be running an embedded renderer but I will be sketching structures at a scale of 1:200 with some fine detail say at 2:1. If this matters
