      Hello.
I'm looking for a way how i can distinguish overlapped areas easily. Sketchup supports paint bucket tool. Its really nice but, is too tiring to add color to overlapped faces continuously. I wanna keep working it efficiently. Is there a great tool recognizes overalapped areas and adds color by itself? and can it apply to 3D shapes?

How should a program know to which "shapes" every single face belongs? You know that there were three circles, but a program?

The picture is just what i ideally wish. Usually, we will see three overlapped circles in one color unless we add color to overlapped areas. I would like to distinguish areas easily. I want to avoid making results like an attached picture, can't know which areas are overlapped double or more

For starters, unless they are made Groups or Components, where those circles overlap they automatically intersect. They are broken down into their disjoint sectors. Thereafter, you can't cause a color applied to one sector to influence others. If you make the circles into Groups or Components, you can color them individually using opacity less than one and they will show through where they overlap. The overlap color will be the blend created by the semi-transparent colors of the Components. If you choose the base colors carefully, this will make it possible to see how many overlaps are in each sector.

Thank you for kind reply, slbaumgartner, but this is not what I completely want. I wanna distinguish overlapped area and express this with different colors. Each color will indicate the number of overlapped areas. Face flash is main problem and wanna solve it with Ruby πŸ˜• It's so hard. If possible, I would like to apply this to even 3D shapes.

So this is a developer question about a ruby solution?
