    Hi Guys,

I am having this problem which I can't find the way to solve. I attached my latest render to which I am trying to apply a plastering texture by adding a bump map. If you look well at the facade you will notice that the texture is being sort of displaced and not even all over the plastered are. Any body has an idea how I could solve this to get the bump map to work properly? Thanks πŸ˜„

Just to be clear, are you talking about 'Bump' or 'Displacement'? It looks as if its a displacement issue, if this is the case you need to subdivide you faces into more and smaller pieces. Vray is a little weird that way.

The thing is that also on a single face the bump map is behaving this way. I am just adding a bitmap bump map to get the plastering texture on my facade. With previous versions of v-ray I never had such issues and used to work this way also

Can you post both your diffuse and bump maps?

Try making a diffuse map that's just the solid color with the same dimensions as your bump map. Or make a version of that bump that is colored and use it as your diffuse.

tparks is right. The problem is that Vray needs UV coordinates to know how big your diffuse material is so that it can match the bump map to it.
