[SOLVED]Can't view materials

Hi all,
I'm a beginner still at sketchup but I've watched some tutorials and I'm figuring things out step by step. However, I scanned the web and still can't seem to figure out why the textures aren't showing on a model I'm working on..the face I apply a texture to will only turn to a solid color of the texture (i.e. instead of brick i get some shade of red).
And yes, SHADED WITH TEXTURES styles view is ON, and what's driving me crazier is that I CAN view textures in all other documents I open, just not this specific one I'm working on. Problem is also apparent in print preview.Thanks in advance
p.s. using sketchup pro 8 on mac.

Did you solve this problem? If not, is it possible to post the model...or even a small part of it, so that we can see if it's particular to your system or something odd in the model? -
