I'm a few versions behind, and finally decided to update. I entered my license info and got a message that it was too old, but that there was another license registered to me and the info was sent to my email account. But no email was received. I did check the spam folder, and it wasn't there either.

When I cut and paste the license info from my current version (Mac OSX, SketchUp--> License) it tells me the info is invalid. But I cut and pasted it exactly from the dialog box.

Anyone know why SketchUp does not want me to upgrade to the latest version?

      Thanks!

The license information you have from an older version is for that older version and not the current version. You need to buy a new license for the new version. If they are telling you that the license is too old for the upgrade, you'll have to buy a new license. That's the downside of waiting so long to go to a newer version. As I recall, you can pay just the upgrade price ($95) is you are upgrading from the previous version. If you skip versions, then the upgrade price isn't an option. It's probably spelled out on their website.

I found it on their website. Here's a copy and paste:

If I skip upgrading between versions and upgrade to 2015 instead, will I have to purchase a brand new, full price license?
No. If you skip upgrading for one year, you would pay an upgrade cost of $95 for single-user license or $150 per seat for network license, plus a enrollment fee of $50. The total cost will be $145 and $200 respectively if upgrading after skipping the upgrade for one year or more.

Sorry if I was unclear... When I put in the older license number, I got a message that said I was eligible for the free upgrade because I had purchased a more recent license and they were sending me an email with that license info. But I never got an email.

did you check your junk folder, or do you have another account that may be registered by Trimble...

Sounds like Trimble might have the wrong email address for you, and you need to contact them.
