Wall Construction issue

All,
I am working on modeling an industrial research facility to develop quantity take offs for estimating purposes firstly and then scheduling / sequencing of trades later.
When i draw a wall with either multi-layers wall or 1001bit wall tools and the walls are not parallel or perpendicular to the XY axis they come into a material list (such as BG Material list) as very big boxes rather than something X inches thick by Y feet long by Z feet tall.
When the wall is drawn with the tools above it is a group which then I convert to a component with the convert groups to components plugin. After which i rename the components with Renderiza Rename by Layer.
So any help in stream lining this process would be appreciated, along with a solution to get walls not aligned with the xy grid to list with correct thickness and length. (I could work a excel formula to sort out the diagonal length within the out put file from the material list, but this seems like a lot of work when it should be simple)

Is this a case where you need to realign the component axes for walls that are off the drawing azis? Or something more complicated than that?

Yes that would be the simple fix, however to do this with segments of a curved wall (many segments) would be time consuming. Does any one know of a script that would do this our a script for walls that sets the axis correctly the first time.

If your wall can be made in sections, perhaps it would be easier to start with a single wall component with the axes aligned appropriately and place copies to follow a path with something like the Path Copy plugin.
Without dividing a curved wall into smaller panels, though, you won't ever get what you're after since the bounding box can only be a rectangular prism.

You could try Profile Builder 2. It can create the walls using the axis and it also can create takeoffs from the wall. Only problem might be subtracting windows as I haven't tested what I'm suggesting

From my experience using this amazing plugin the surface area and volume takes account of any cuts and voids, however care should be taken when editing if it effects the PMPI length. The PMPI is a hidden line path of the shape, and accounts for the length values on the takeoff.

I didn't know that and I will try it sometime. If the length of the wall is the PMPI length then that might be a minor issue unless the opennings are top to bottom of the wall. It might work well with visuhole...
