      Hi there,

I'm trying to think of a way to use a model in sketchup to show me how visible a viaduct is from street level. This is a for a uni project with and currently looking at advertising potential of the bridge.

I have attached a quick plan of the model (probably not that helpful) and another showing how I envisage the visibility being displayed (in green) from a particular part of the viaduct (shaded black). The buildings surrounding are in grey. Hopefully this gets my idea across even if it is a bit crude at the moment.

My initial thoughts were creating a light source on the top of the viaduct which would cast shadows by the surrounding buildings but doubt there is a way of doing this without a rendering engine light source?

Does anybody have any ideas on how I could create the above effect or, even better, if there are any other thoughts on how I could do this I would be extremely grateful

      Many thanks for reading

      Marc
