      Is it possible to personalize the workspace. For example, to remove a few buttons from "the standard toolbar"?

        Your profile indicates you are using SU8. If so, the short answer is, not easily. Youcould select individual toolbars instead of using the Large Tool Set, though. maybe that would help. If you are using SU2013 or later, you can customize the toolbars for the standard tools. I was asked yesterday elsewhere to show my SU screen so I made this screen shot. Maybe it'll give you some ideas. If you look closely at the two long toolbars along the left side, I've omitted some tools that I never or rarely use. There's a plugin by Matt that would allow you to make custom toolbars for plugins.
