    Hi there,

Wondering...once I upgrade to the latest SU version, can I just copy my existing plugin files into the proper folder without any issues or will I have to re-download a certain way? Wanting to avoid any issues before it's too late. Thanks in advance.

    Cheers,
    Jeff

no official list exists, so no way to tell for sure. most are still compatible, some aren't.

why not try.... see the errors in the console. if any, take note of the ones not working and get them out of the folder. (you may still find others not working though).

but really, if you are going 2015, i would strongly advise to start fresh. get sketchucation tools and extensions warehouse on tour and take some time looking around. you will find some new things and finish with the least buggy set up and latest versions. (that's what i did)

PS. i have to say i still use 8 a fair amount, for some reason the viewport still runs faster than 2015 x64.

Your profile says you were using V8. If that's the case, it is not advisable to copy your old plugins to the new. This was covered ad nauseum after the release of SU2014. There were lots of complaints from people who did just that and found the old copies they had didn't work with the new Ruby 2.0. As CadFather said, just use the SCF Plugin Store plugin (and Extension Warehouse) to install fresh copies of your plugins. Use it as an opportunity for some house cleaning, too. Don't install plugins you don't use.

Also keep in mind that the correct location for the plugins you install into SU2015 is not the same as it is in SU8. Let the SCF Plugin Store and Extension Warehouse install the plugins automatically.

Advantage to keep all older versions! 😄
