Advice / Pointers please
-
Hi folks,
Im very new to this and have used the forum to find most of my answers over the last day or two since picking up the program. I have now however got stuck.
I am trying to round off my model, minus the top part which needs to be flat. I must be using the wrong word in my search criteria.
I plan to eventually print the model off so required it to be kept solid.
Also, is there any way to "mirror" a side quickly and easily? Copy and paste worked but lining things up at times could be troublesome.
Any help much appreciated

Joel

The link doesn't work.
If you are searching for a plugin, you can have a look at Fredo6s RoundCorner and TIGs Mirror plugins.

Joel,
As for mirroring one side to make the other, it is possible and very fast using Flip Along after making the copy using Move/Copy. (Don't use Copy and Paste.) No plugin is needed for making the mirrored half. Getting the halves lined up is a simple matter if you grab the copy by a point that will coincide with a point on the other half.

I'm looking at your file now. For rounding over I would start with Round Corners by Fredo6. I think your model needs a bit of clean up first and due to the tiny size, you'll need to work on a scaled up copy of it. What is it you want to mirror?
Check your PMs, too.

Thanks Dave, have sent you an email

Mirroring has been done, it was the fin on the side but was for future reference really.
