      Hi,

      Windows 7 - 64bit 16GB Ram

      Is anyone experiencing this problem?

Since upgrading to the 64bit Sketchup Pro 2015 I am experiencing what can only be described as sticking tool buttons. What frequently happens is I select a tool button e.g orbit. I return to my drawing only to find that the previous command is still live. I then have to go back and select again. It happens with all the buttons I am using with approximately 25-30% failure rate (very frustrating).

The thing is I run AutoCAD every day and I am quite proficient with this and despite AutoCAD's buttons being smaller they work on every selection. Also using Photoshop & Lightroom and again no problems with these programs.

I am seriously thinking of returning to previous version of Sketchup Pro but what a retrograde step.

Any thoughts anyone before you hang up your stockings!

      Many thanks,
      Andrew

I haven't seen it myself but I've read somewhere else that others have experienced something similar.

Out of curiosity, why do you pick the orbit tool off the toolbar? Why not use the CMB?

          Hi Dave,

I only mentioned the Orbit Tool button as an example. The issue seems to affect all buttons. I thought it might be my mouse but like I said other programs are not affected. The faster I seem to work the more noticeable and frustrating it becomes. Because all the buttons are working it's difficult to describe but I'm sure you know what I mean when something is just not quite right.

Sketchup still works fine, although I have what I regard as a reasonable set up (graphics card, ram etc) I have not experienced any performance improvement between Pro 14 & Pro 15 (64bit).

I must confess I had forgotten the central wheel is also a button. Thank you for reminding me of this. I also need to expand my use of keyboard shortcuts.

Thank you for giving your time so generously.

          Kind regards,
          Andrew

I can imagine the button sticking thing but haven't seen it myself.

As for the performance improvement, I see much less of the thing where SketchUp switches the model to wireframe while orbiting. 64-bit isn't a performance enhancing thing but they did make some changes to improve performance in SU2015.

              2015, 64 bit.

Yep. Happens to me all the time. Figured I was just getting old and misclicking tools...
              happens ALOT.

also i've been having a problem with my windows (layers, components, etc...) deciding they want to stay on top of everything else. For example if i have outlook open on my 2nd window, the skethcup tools stay above outlook - even when I'm USING outlook. the only fix is to close and re-open sketchup.

Usually the sticky button problem is a graphic card issue and in most cases can be resolved by updating your graphic card drivers.

                  Thank you everyone,

I suspect it could be a graphics card problem. I have tried installing latest drivers but this makes AutoCAD impossible to use. The card I have is expensive but out of guarantee.

Will save up for a new card.

                  Regards,
                  Andrew
