Exporting big images from LayOut

hello,
I have this big plan I am working on sketchup and I was wondering what is the biggest PDF or JPEG size i can export of LayOut. I need to print it on a 3m x 7m poster! I have heard that really big files cannot be exported from LayOut the image or PDF will have a big size file but with a blank white page. Is't true?
If it is what is the solution for that and what is of a better quality, image or PDF? noting that it is an architectural plan and i'm going to import it into photoshop to color it and add trees etc.Thank

I am not yet done with plan so i have nothing to test now. About the dpi, I have no background about that I was hoping to get help through this forum. It is ny graduatiin project as an urban designer and my skills in graphics are minute. Thanj you for your reply

7mx3m=42000pixel x 18000 pixel (152 dpi). It very big picture. Yo can export to vector format PDF and use more powerfull software to convert. Or you can print poster from many small part.
I just try export to .JPG 25000 by width without any probrem and very fast exort. only few second. SU2015x64 -

What will be the dpi settings you want to print? -> 7m x 300dpi = around 8400 pixels? I dont think that will be a problem. Any test file you would want to share so someone with layout can do a test run for you?
edit: after reading Yorik's calculation I came back to mine and turns out I missed 1 digit. So 7x3m with 300dpi will be around 83k x 35k pixels. You better have a killer machine to work on and lots of disk space because Photoshop will require a lot of resources as well.

A sign printed that large will certainly not be at 300dpi (the machine would never spool the print).
I know my sign guys work at artwork supplied at 1/5th or 1/10th printed size. If you can export a vector as PDF the size of the artwork will make no difference as long as it is proportionately correct.
The bigger issue you will have is that most artwork will be required as CYMK not RGB. Conversion to CYMK will need to be done post export.
