Hi, i've used rectangle boxes to illustrate various zones in my model.

I've used the paint bucket tool to colour in each box, and i've used the same two colours (transparent red and green) on each zone, HOWEVER, as you can see below the colours (reds and greens don't match) don't look the same.

      http://s15.postimg.org/nb5by6kx7/Screen_Shot_2014_10_06_at_12_26_24.png

I've coloured all sides of the rectangles (top, sides, bottom) and i've even saved each colour to a pallett so that i can be sure i am using the same red and green.

Can anyone suggest what could be wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

It's most likely that you have blended the colours by painting the actual geometry one colour and the component another. You need to be aware that it is possible to paint components differently to the geometry from which they are made and when using transparent colours one can bleed through to the other.

In the image below bothare painted with the same green, but one has red geometry.

The back color (styles window) may have an influence in this case too.

First thing you might try is to change the back face color to white. If Carsten is correct, that would take care of it.

It's kind of difficult to tell exactly from your screen shot.

It's a wise thing to be consistent in the way you apply materials and colors to your model. The best thing is to apply them to the faces inside the components/groups. This is especially true if they are textures that have direction such as wood grain. Applying them to the faces gives you the option to adjust the alignment of the texture when needed.

You can try to select all the component boxes and paint them (from outside) with the "standard color" (no color).
