Request script or plugin =) -> make groups of....

hi there,
im sure it cant be that hard ...
i have a skp file with lots of loose gemetry, now what i would love would be
a script that iterates through the geometry and finds connected geometry
and makes a group of it and then go on until there are only groups left....as an option it would be cool to have the possibility to set the name style for solids/nonsolids.....
would be awesome if one of the grandmasters could do the finger magic on this

using this workflow...
Select All, make it into a temporary group, run the tool on that group.
The loose geometry inside the temporary group is made into sub-groups according to connectivity.
The temporary group is auto-exploded...
Use the outliner/entity-info to rename the groups...
