        I used Blender and it's Particle systems to place vegetation.

        Weight Painting help control where trees are distributed.

        Render in Thea for Blender

              Blenders Texture Paint with masking.

              Plus the new layer painting.

              also used lots of stencil painting and cloning.

                            Amazing job Rich!! My only negative is (and we all struggle with this bit) edge treatment! The foreground is a bit over fuzzed. if any I'd do the bottom edge only and minimally but not the trees - that's just gone a bit far!
