So I'm working on a project at the moment, and well...this never happened to me before. I'm using SketchUp 8.0.16845 and now when I'm trying to save my progress it simply deletes a lot of the geometry, so lots of lines and surfaces simply disappear.

Not sure what's causing this though. The file isn't that big (around 12mb), I've worked with bigger, more complex stuff, so I doubt it's that.

      Anybody have any similar experiences?

I've seen this once in awhile and although it can be frustrating, it isn't a bug. In every case where this has happened to me, the model contains curved surfaces with very small faces and vertices that are so close together SketchUp considers them to be in the same location. While fixing the model during saving, it deletes some of those vertices and some related edges which creates holes.

There are a couple of options. The first would be to turn off SketchUp's auto fix under Preferences>General. Of course this leaves the model unfixed so the issues that cause the problems still exist.

The better solution would be to correct the model so you don't have those problems. That can involve thinking ahead about how you construct it as possibly redrawing some areas.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was trying to close down the holes and fix it, only to run into that same problem again. Which basically lead me to redrawing those parts again, but it's fixed now. Thanks! πŸ˜„
