      Hi everyone,

I was wondering if this is possible to save your interface/menu profile in sketchup just as Autocad with the profile importer/exporter.

I'd like to transfer my windows current positions and my menu organization into a new computer. I tried to transfer the appsdata from user profile in windows (manually) and it didn't work. So if this is impossible to do it with the software, where are these informations stored at?

      Best regards,

      David

You would have to transfer Registry keys which can be done but...

I have had a number of occasions to set up SketchUp on multiple computers to look the same. I make a screen shot of the original one and import that into SketchUp on the next machine as an image. Then I can use that image as a reference for setting toolbar and window locations. It doesn't take long and there's less chance of screwing up the Registry.

That could be a good solution, indeed.

I'm just asking myself why there is no such options in sketchup's software. Every software of this kind should have this feature in my opinion.

By the way, thank you for the trick,

          David.

You can export shortcuts from one install to another and you can share a template which is just a blank SketchUp file but since the toolbar positions are registry entries, I think they'd have to be written by the program. It would be nice to have a way to do it but I'm certainly not the guy to make it happen.
