I have created a large number of walls in 3D, which I need to convert back to 2D images. When I use the extrude tool to reduce them down, the wall disappears. Obviously, this is great if you're undoing walls, but I want to reduce the height to 'zero', while retaining the outline in plan. Is there a way to do this?

The easiest way I know of would be to use Select to select everything above the bottom of the walls. Then hit the Delete key. A right to left selection box dragged across the walls, making sure to avoid the bottom should take care of it.

Also depending on your structure and the actual results you want you could use a section plane or change the view to top and use parallel projection.
