Slow import

I'm not sure if this is an SU problem, but it isn't occurring anywhere else on my computer.
Recently (last week or two) I've noticed that SU is very slow to import anything (another SU file, an image, a copied /pasted model) - it now takes at least 5-7 seconds - more often 2-3 times longer. Is there something I need to check? NB. I've just up-dated 'maintenance & support' but it hasn't improved things.
