How to credit warehouse models
-
I occasionally download small elements/furniture to use in my work. However, I have a rush job this weekend that required a coffee shop in street scene as background for a display I am modelling. I'd like to use a shop/street model from the warehouse for the background. My question is how exactly do I give credit to the modeller for this?
The final visual (2D image only) will be used to market the display piece (my own modelled part). I'm pretty sure my client will not want to see credits written below the visual on the finished work.
I'd like to get this right as I know it rightly upsets modellers who share their work & don't get the acknowledgement.

Hi, emerald15:
The following thread may not be the answer, but can give some insight:http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=79%26amp;t=38857
You may have already seen it. I was just googling "attribution for 3d warehouse models".

Thanks Mitcorb. That does help - the thread gets very legal & hard to follow, but I think the comments from Alan Fraser's reply (Sat Apr 21, 2012) seem to cover my issue - that is:- I'm using models or part of them as a background for my own work & will be presenting 2D visuals only to my client. I'll also try to find a way to add credits to the final visual.

I am wondering if some little gimmick like a mouseover/flyout show credit could work. Of course this may not be the format you are using. That is more like a webpage thing. In the real print world you just provide a Footnote and Bibliography.
