      Hello Friends at Sketchucation,

I am trying to import STL files into Sketchup but Sketchup's plugin that is supposed to provide both exporting and importing STL files only has a export STL option. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. ☀

did you try file-import-(change extension to *.stl) and pick the stl file ? If you use Sketchup's stl plugin this option should be there.

To import .stl files, go to the "File > Import..." menu, then select the "STereo Lithography .stl" in the file type drop-down.

Ideally, the Exporter would be under "File > Export > 3D Model..." but SketchUp does not support adding exporters there yet.

          Hi

            Jim,

Thanks so much that worked! I just did not know "STereo Lithography was STL and did not look close enough.
