Model Rotation

I have an object (model) which is a group of many materials in a scene. Everything is within the group and the grouping becomes highlighted upon selection. I am trying to rotate this grouping within the scene but I can't get any rotational arrows to appear?
Any help would be appreciated.

You know, a screen shot at least would be a big help.
What tool are you trying to use to rotate the group? And what the intended center of rotation.
Please complete you profile with SketchUp version and OS.
