Steampunkish Gramaphone/CD player
-
Made a start on another little project today, but will have to leave it for a while now.
So I thought I'd just pop it on here to remind me to get back to it as soon as I'm settled again.
The idea is to have an elaborate mechanism that functions but is actually only an on off switch for the CD player built within.

Nice. Materials will be fun, I am sure.
-
Nicely detailed!
-
Yep, materials should be interesting, I'm looking at lots of glass, copper and brass.
A bit more detail over coffee today.
-
quite hard to stop looking at it.

I'll put a pic of myself in with it next time, that'll either stop you or blind you.
-
-
Wow! That's really nice.
-
Cheers Dave, but you don't need to sound quite so surprised.
-
Oh. Sorry.
That didn't really surprise me seeing as how it is your work. I think it's a pretty cool idea, though.
-
I'll send it off to you when finished and you can do the cabinet work.
-
That would be fun but a shame to hide all that inner working with a walnut case.
-
Who're you calling a nutcase!!!
-
If the shoe fits....
-
Oooo and such a comfy fit.
-
orgelf might even want to rent it
-
This would awesome if you 3D printed it in a small size and maybe called it "an indoor/outdoor wall ornament". Just screw it to a wall or a post and ta-da very cool decorative ornament. Just an idea...
-
Mate, that is so detailed modelling - cant believe these days what we see people doing with SU!
Cant wait to see it textured up!
-
I'm afraid you'll have to wait a while, I've packed all my computers away, down to one tiny steam driven laptop and a phone. So no work from me until I'm back in the wide brown land, which could take a while. Cross country from east Germany to London for my as yet unbooked flight home could take a while. Have to polish up the hitching thumb.
P.S. as far as detail goes did you see Tinkerbell.
