MSPhysics 1.0.3 (16 October 2017)

Hello,
I'm installing MSPhysics on a Windows 10 PC with Sketchup Pro 2022.
When I open SU I receive a series of errors and the extension isn't available even though it shows up in the Extension Manager. See the attached PDF with the errors. Thanks for any help I can get.

MS Physics doesn't work in versions later than 2017. the author needs to make updates but they have not done it yet. Basically you can't use it with SU2022.

Hello Anton or Anyone who could explain me for the problem.
I've use SketchUp 2017 for long time together with MSPhysics (right now is version 1.0.3).
They worked well and thank you very much to Anton that create a super good extension. But suddenly, the models that I using with MSPhysics has problems on running scripts that has user interaction such as using keys and mouse buttons. Everytime I run the script, it pop a window like shown here.
I've test the script from the learning model that I found.
It happens also in the model that require W , S , D , A , arrows and all mouse buttons.
But mouse's wheel can be used. -
Hello Anton,
I would like to know if I can consider a density of 7800kg per m3 for a <servo motor cylinder> group not reacting to "by mass" "by density" Mass Control of UI.
THANK YOU

Is there any news on MSPhysics being updated for newer versions of SketchUp?
I would like to offer to help with work getting it updated. I wrote the infamous plugin sph4bar in 2006 which models spherical 4 bar mechanisms. I also wrote GeoSketch, a plugin used by aerospace companies.
In a previous life, I worked for Cadsi, and integrated DADS (Dynamic Analysis and Design System) in to CAD systems such as CATIA and Ideas Master Series.
Now I am retired and have time to kill.

Will this work with SketchUp 2024?

No. If you read this thread you'll see the last version it worked with is 2017.
-
Know any others like this that work?
-
@a4jp-com Nope. I think this is a one of a kind.

Hi. That would be amazing! How are there not enough SU tools to help check the operability of moving elements, that is, kinematics.

On the GitHub page there is an upadated version that works for SU 2022, SU 2023, and even SU 2024 (with a slight modification).

@FlorinAp:
Is this a joke? I can't find anything like this on GitHub. Is there a link? -
Maybe on your GitHub is not, but on the GitHub from Earth it is.!

Tested it in SketchUp 2022
Doesn't work with complex MSPhysics models, as Anton already noted in 2019.AntonSynytsia on GitHub, Apr 26, 2019 (Owner):
"Yes, the repository is compatible with SU2019 but this is a development version and has a number instability issues, multi-threading and joints in particular. I am planning to fix these issues before releasing a 2019 compatible version." -
Nevertheless, many thanks to the guys who adapted MSPhysics to the new SketchUp versions.
Since the MSPhysics plugin is very complex, I can understand that some components no longer work 100%.
However, it's a good tool for getting started with physics for SketchUp.
Batching simple physics simulations doesn't seem to be a problem with the adapted version.
Slightly more complex models from version 1.0.3 crash either immediately or during the simulation without an error message.
I also noticed that you can no longer set the world scale in the UI. This menu item is missing.
The Control Panel is not displayed correctly during simulations.
It would be good to know which conventions, commands, or physics properties have changed due to the newer SketchUp Rubi API or other system updates.
These probably also affect the scripts programmed in MSP.
It's a shame that AntonS hasn't continued to develop it.
For SketchUp 2017, it's still an incredibly well-thought-out and functional physics plugin. -
@faust07 Man, you should read all those discussion posts on GitHub, they are very helpful in finding more solutions.
I never used this extension, so i can't speak from my own experience what it can and can not do in either version.
Also, I've seen a YouTube video once (on the "TutorialUp" channel), and this extension was working very well in SU 2018, i mean the same as in SU 2017...
