Text in Layout

I am trying to place text over a viewport in Layout and it's not visible. The text is only visible outside of the viewport. Am I doing something wrong?

It sounds like you're putting text on a layer lower in the list than the the layer the viewport is on. Unlike in SketchUp where the order of layers in the list is irrelevant, layer order matters in LayOut. Either move your text layer up the list or make a new layer higher in the list for your text.
