Su8 - Mavericks - toolbars?!

i can't seem to find any reports of this happening to anybody else but any help / ideas in fixing this will be greatly appreciated
• fairy recently updated my laptop to mavericks
• started experiencing problems with certain toolbars not remembering their visibility state (the toolbars are always off upon launching)
• i thought it was the way the plugins were written as i've experienced similar in the past with certain ones always being 'on'
• noticed some of the native toolbars were doing this too
• went through a bunch of different troubleshooting ideas to no avail (repair permissions, modifying permissions on the preference files, etc)
• the last step i took was to completely uninstall 4 versions of sketchup.. apps, plists, plugins, caches, savedState, some other com.google.sketchup .plists i found in private system folders.. trashed/deleted then restarted the computer and installed a fresh download of sketchup8.
• the problem still exists (haven't installed any outside plugins).. the only toolbars which will remember their on/off state are the large tool set and solid tools.. solar north, dynamic components, shadow fix, camera tools.. they all fail to load.any ideas ? i believe i'll be abandoning su8 this year but i still need it for a few more months at least.
