... And I could up vote my own post ...
Thank you to all Mac users who tested. Yes, you can vote on your own post as well. But only once! So be careful which thumb you choose on your own.
Edit: UPPSSS.... The red one....

Against the suicides : Why not block the result to 0 when negative result arrives?
Benefice of doubt can save many souls! And keep this gadget only for the corner bar?
For me impression is that!

A fair play thing will be the possibility to disable it inside the User Control Panel!

I think that the hand - down should be avoided for it makes pressure and may condition the writing in the topic . On the other way , leaving just the hand - up alone would mean that when a topic is really important for you , well , there you go .
No need to bring anything down , what is the point ?
Plus on my view it can bring discouragement for writing again and the rising of an incomprehensible elite membership that could ruin the joy of the community .
I think that the point is to avoid the confusion between discussions and polls .
Topics are for discussions and not for voting what you like.
To do so there are the Polls where you can clearly express what you like best .

I'd vote you up but it still not working on safari, I prefer people saying (writing) why they disagree instead of this roman "kill him!" as far as we don't know who's thumb it is.

and who good members are.
What's a "good" member?
Why this sudden interest in voting. This incredibly useful forum has been operating very well without it for several years.
Using "+1" tells me someone agrees and even who it was. -

Yes , exactly . One can hide making a destructive act without any explanation .

So let us give time to time to think about it .
And meanwhile the silence :

One thing to note, to make the votes meaningful you really need to see both numbers.
Showing only the combined result gives you a skewed perspective.A post might be very controversial and 500 people vote it up while 499 people vote it down, leaving a lame 1 vote up which suggests indifference rather than a divided community.
+500
Show your face instead hiding behind your thumb.

Yes definitively ,
I am even ready to show my face in my avatar if the thumbs down are eliminated .
Ah , OK , this silence from Rich O Brien , author of this thread , makes me wonder and makes me feel that this place is no longer a friendly place for me .
Bye Bye Crew .
