Sorry if I posted in the wrong subforum, wasn't sure where it needed to go!

I made a 3D object but it's one meter atm and I need it to be 5cm (I will need to print it irl in a few days...). However when I try to resize it with sketchup it completely deforms the object and it looks awful...

    How do I fix this?

I'm a total beginner (I started yesterday) and I don't want to remake everything, I'm not even sure I can do that....

Thank you very much in advance!

Easiest way is to use the tape measure to measure the 1m portion and then type in 5cm at the dialogue. SU will ask if you want to resize the model - accept yes.

If you have other objects that you don't want resized, make the atm entities into a group or component. Edit the group and perform the tape measure rescaling there, protecting the rest of the model. The rescale works on all object in the current "context"

didn't know that! this should be copied to the 'Doh!' thread

... (edit) that is to say, the SU manual/tutorials explains (at least, when I read them)that the tape measure rescaling technique controls the complete drawing file, not that it can be limited to individual groups/components
