Generate Report Requires Google Account Sign-In? +Locks Up.
-
Hello,
I recently tried to generate a report for one of my models and I found that I was required to sign into my Google account. I'm working with SU 2013 pro and this is the first time I've tried to generate a report with the 2013 version, so I did't think it was a big deal. But when I dutifully entered my password, nothing happened. So, no report. I checked my Google account and the password worked, so not a password problem. Two questions: 1. Why are we now required to sign into a Google account to generate a report of data that is produced by the model owner? 2. Why doesn't it work?
Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
Thanks!

I normally don't use the Generate Report function but I just ran it now on one of my models. I wasn't asked to sign in although I'm probably already signed in since I recently downloaded a plugin update through EW. It created the file in short order and displayed what I expected when I opened the HTML file.
Where did SketchUp offer to save the report? Is it possible there's a permissions issue with that location?

No requirement to login here! Have you possibly tied yourself into Google's Skydrive? The initial report "save to" location will be with the SU model.

Hi Dave,
I recently installed a Google drive, so maybe this is what SU is trying to access.
I checked my folders under preferences and they all point to my hard drive (not the Google drive, so that's not the problem. I also made sure I was signed into Google, and still no luck. I'm thinking there's something messed up because I get a log in page, but there's no response when I try to sign in with my user id and password. I also don't know how I can manipulate where the report file saves in advance. My previous experience is that SU generates the file and you can choose to save it wherever you want to. I just can't get to that step.
Thanks for your reply!
Frank.

did a google search, came across a post regarding a typo in attrreporter.rb seems to be missing in my version of su 2013
-
seems to be an IE error. restarted su, tried to log in to 3d warehouse, got a couple of errors. went to internet explorer and cleared all history and cache, logged out of any accounts.tried a third time and got in, tried to generate a report and now it all works fine.

You might try updating IE and dumping your cookies and temp files.

Me Kris?, Running latest versions although still having an issue with 2014. otherwise all has been cleared and seems to be working. Now if someone can tell me why I cant get my Large tool set to nest in 2014 ( doesnt nest up top; only along the side), I'd be a happy man
-
The native large tool set won't dock at the top, but you can easily create your own toolset that will. Simply drag the tools you want from the large set to a new toolbar.

you're awesome

from google groups....
Hi all-The initial version of our "Dynamic Components" extension had a bug that broke "Generate Report". Luckily, there's a fixed version available now.
To update your "Dynamic Components" extension, you'll need to run SketchUp, open the Window -> Extension Warehouse, and then search for "Dynamic Components".
Let us know if you continue to have problems.
Thanks,
MarcI updated and restarted sketchup
now works for 2014
Horray...
thanks to the team
