Base Camp 2014.

You'll find me at the bar. I've had enough snow!
-
Thanks for the head up.
Now, I have time to get my "HAT"

If everyone is wearing hats maybe Tom won't.

The last few years the snow has been great around this time of year. Also, there is a lift right behind the Basecamp hotel, and a free shuttle bus between the hotel and Vail Village/Lionshead. No reason to get in a car during Basecamp!

Know of a good pub with a patio so I can watch all the Sketchup palooka's falling while having a drink?

Hard to match your hat - but I do have a cookie-monster hat!

Actually, this was one of our criteria for picking a venue
-
Do you really work there or are you just thinking what would be fun to do next?
Cheers

Well done Mark
I imagine there will be a great take up as ski resort based conferences work very well. I've attended an Austria based ArchiCAD one back in 2002, very enjoyable.
The routine was fairly active! Up at 8am, clean up and breakfast, on the slopes at 10am and back at 4pm. Clean up again and dinner at 6pm, then various presentations and demos until 11pm ..... then to the bar till 2am for a night cap!
For anyone that has never skied, I envy the experience they will have if they attend and try it out. I have not been skiing for 4 years, so a bit rusty, but its like cycling, it comes back after an few minutes.
The hotel looks excellent ...... have you guys arranged promo codes for attendees as quoted prices look a fairly steep

According to the FAQ the price doesn't seem too bad to me.

We've negotiated a rate of US $139 (plus 9% tax) per night for a double-occupancy room. That's a very good price for a hotel room in Vail, and if you're up for having a roommate, it's even cheaper. In fact, when Basecamp registration opens, we'll offer a "roommate matching" service that can help you find someone to share a room with, if that's what you want to do.
If you'd like to arrive in Vail early or stay longer, our special rate can be used to book rooms for up to three nights before and/or after the event, too. Turn Basecamp into your winter vacation and bring the whole family!

My wife just read that.

So did my wife. It sounds like I might not be coming alone.
I don't ski but she does and so does Ian.

You also got a kid called Ian?
Hope your wife likes wine.
-
Yep.
She's not a wino but she'll drink a glass.
-
Does anyone know what the different sessions will be about? It would be good to have some kind of program to be able to convince the boss.
-
Jan, here's all the information we know so far.
-
Yes, thanks but I was hoping there was some kind of program available before registration starts as I would need my boss's approval to be able to go.
-
I would expect there will be a program but it's kind of early yet.

I imagine the Boulder guys have not yet figured out the full agenda. They do say that the event will be more learner / user orientated in contrast to the last event which was ruby orientated so I imagine this will help you make a case to your boss.
