Can't make style changes stick
-
You have to save the change to the style. Do that by clicking on the style's thumbnail to make the circular arrows go away.
-
Dave, Sorry, but it don't work! I clicked on the thumbnail, then saved. the instant the save completes, the edges disappear, and the edge color changes from "all the same" back to "by material." Any other thoughts? John

You're clicking the thumbnail in the upper left corner?
Do you have a scene or scenes in the model? Are you updating the scenes after updating the style?
Why don't you finish your profile so we know what version of SketchUp you are using and your operating system and so on?
-
No scenes. There were scenes before, but I deleted them all. Sorry about the profile -- I've updated it. Sketchup 8 Free, Win 7.
-
Could you post the SKP file? Or send it via PM if you don't want to make it public.
Thanks for updating your profile.
-
Dave, Tried to attach the file to a PM, but it won't send files > 2MB. This file is almost 14MB. Is there a way around this? J

How about making a simplified version of your SketchUp file. Delete most of the model and purge all unused components and materials. Save it as a new file.
-
Well, this is interesting! I started deleting things, and the the file size didn't get much smaller. Finally, I did an Unhide All and a Select All, deleted everything in the file, and saved. There is nothing in the mode, and the size is still 13,288 KB! Statistics show:
edges 1882
faces 685
groups 14
materials 7I did a Purge Unused, and nothing changed.
Your thoughts?
-
Are the materials made from large images? No components? Is it possible there's hidden stuff inside groups? Open the groups for editing and choose Edit>Unhide>All.
-
In Model Info, I found and deleted a couple of components. I still have 1 edge and 2 materials, even though the model is empty. File size is now 21 KB. What do you think might have gone wrong?
-
I don't know but I'd be interested to see it.
