Noob from Ireland, hi

Hi folks, I'm Paul, a graphic designer from Ireland. I have made one woodworking model in sketchup 6, now i'm back trying something more adventurous - a kitchen design for our new build house. My goal is to get a few good renders from this project so I'm interested in materials, textures and lighting (more add-on / 3rd party renderer territory than sketchup I believe). I have messed about with 3ds Max years ago, and back in college we had something called cinema 4D which seemed pretty special at the time! I have often poked around but never got very far. I'm determined this time to come out with a finished product and something useful. If I can impress my lady, well that's a bonus! see you around the forum

I think you will be well able to impress 'your lady' as SketchUp is very easy to learn and fun to master.
